Takradhara is quite similar to the Ayurvedic Shirodhara treatment, except that buttermilk is poured on the person head instead of medicated oils. In Sanskrit, thakra means buttermilk. The buttermilk is blended with certain medicinal herbs depending on the individual's treatment requirements.
